I went to use my phone the other day and the screen was frozen. I could still make and recieve calls. I turned the phone off normally and when it was turned back on, the screen was all pixels, but the keyboard still worked. Over the next few days, it would work for a few hours then freeze again. Now its just pixels. It also randomly lights up for no reason at all.
Has anybody found out how to stop the clock from losing time? I have tried everything that the Nokia help desk has suggested and can't afford to have the phone in at Nokia Care.

For Handwriting, why is it not “Word recognition” instead of “Character recognition” …
Like I have this TrackPad on my Laptop, it recognizes any word typed in any handwriting !… its a lot faster that way !... unlike for 5800 where you have to type each alphabet saperately !...
Is there any application for 5800 which I can install to replace the existing handwriting system into “Word recognition” ? …because I know its possible !

I bought the N97 just a month ago. last week when I turned the phone off it didn't turn off immediately. It opened the contact, then the watch, after that the calender and suddenly it turned off after opening these applications. This is really annoying and every time i turn off the phone it does the same thing, opens several applications and then it turns off.
Please I need some help here.

I just moved to a Nokia N97 from a Palm Treo Pro. So far so good, but one thing I cannot seem to find any information on is whether or not you can set ringtones for all unknown callers, like you can on a palm? This was one of my favorite features for palm phones.
If you cannot set a specific ringtone for all unknown callers on the handset itself, does anyone know of an application I can download that would enable this?

I just switched from a 6500 (S40) to a E52 (S60).. and up to now I'm a bit disapointed about the smartness of the phone. Maybe I'm just expecting a bit much ... but hey, maybe I'm wrong and someone will tell me how to do the things.
My questions;
1) concerning the business and personal "modes", I was expecting to be able to load both my personal (outlook) and professional (Exchange) calender. But then there seems to be only one calendar ... downgrading the modes to simply different backgrounds as far as it concerns me.
Am I wrong, and can the modes realy be used to install different content? If not, is there a purchasable tool to have a second calender?
2) inside the personal calendar I used to have clear indications of the birthday, including the automatic calculated age of the person (always nice to know) ... now I still have the birthday, but no year or age .... is there any workaround?
3) the 6500 allowed to asign a kind of favorite SMS number ... is this lacking in here as well?
4) when I'm recording video's with my phone ... they don't appear under the video clips in the gallery ... but under pictures..??? where's the logic in this? or is this just a little bug?

My 5800 has worked fine for six months, but started acting up today. I tried Ovi and installed the Facebook app, and after that weird things have happened.
The main problem is that all four shortcuts on the home screen have disappeared. When tapped, a red square flashes but the programs don´t activate. Also, tapping the date to open the calendar doesn´t work, the drop down list appear but it can´t be tapped. Starting up calendar via the meny (white central key) works fine.
I have uninstalled the facebook app, but nothing helps.
What has happened? I tried resetting the phone to factory settigns but it asks for a code I don´t have...
No more apps for me!
