N97 locked and wont come out of the lock mode any ideas of what to do????

The Nokia Music app is [i]awful[/i]. I have varying success with it, varying from none, to almost none.

 

My phone wont connect to my PC via Media Transfer mode, which is what the computer is telling me to do. I think this is because I don't have MTP drivers on my XP PC? God knows. Why on Earth didn't Nokia include them on the install disc? Anyway... 

 

So how come sometimes using PC Suite connection mode it works ok for Nokia Music and sometimes it doesn't!? Also, Nokia Music doesn't seem to let you specify WHERE you want the music sent on your phone. I want to use the mass memory, but at some point I may want to use my additional memory card. I choose this how? Impossible. Finally, Nokia Music sometimes seems to just decide to try to fill the actual phone memory with music, delivering the error message 'Not enough room on phone'.

It does some nice interface upgrades but overall I hate it. It's bad enough that the music player equalizer is gone but in the previous version when I navigated away from the music player (to look at pics, send a text message, etc) the music would continue to play. That was one of the best things I liked about the phone. Not anymore. The music player exits as soon as I do anything other than listen to music. Suck!!

 

So I'd like to know if I can downgrade the phone to the previous version and get these features back?

There is a major bug in the n97 90+ percent of the time when phone is locked it will use the incorrect default ringtone.. I even went so far as thinking that it was an issue with the rngtone on the memory card s i copied it into the c drive and set the ringtone from file manager from the file on the c driver for all profiles..

 

still after phone is locked for a few minutes it alway uses the defaut ringtone instead.. seems like some process is taking too long to wake up.. becuase if i then call back immediately agian it appears to use the correct ringtone as if the first call woke someting up.. please fix this is really annoying..

I updated my N85 to v20.175.  Everything is working fine except for Share online.  Previously had it set for uploading to Ovi, which worked fine.  After update, when I click on the app, it asks for a connection which I select, and then it says Drive New drive unavailable.  Can't even cancel out of it.  I have to reboot my phone.  Any solutions?

Hey, I just got my N97 in from Amazon. It's the NAM version, RM-507. I was very disappointed to see it has the made in China label, since my opinion of Chinese made products has never been a good one. Upon inspecting the phone, I happen to notice a few things. 

1) The SIM card makes noise for some reason when I shake the phone, like something knocking around. The second I take it out of the tray, and shake the phone, there is no noise at all. It's not loud, but you can definitely hear it.

2) There's more of a gap on the side where the speakers are then on the side where the camera shutter is. It looks like the phone doesn't quite sit properly, its off by just under a millimeter.

3) The keyboard tactile feedback is horrible on the top row, and the bottom row, as well as the left, bottom, and top of the D-pad. The right on the D-pad is perfect as it is raised compared to the rest of the D-pad, as well as the middle row of the keyboard; they all have some clickiness to them, E71 feel if you will, and they're all raised higher then everything else. But as for the rest, there is hardly any tactile feedback at all, and they feel all practically flush with the plastic surrounding the keys. It's very annoying.

4) Also my Menu key is not centered perfectly. It's sitting too much to the left, so there's more light coming through on the right side. 

Does anybody else see the same things in their devices or is it just mine? I need to get a consensus because if it's just mine, then it's going back, and I'm getting another one.

• Where is the the dictionary used in the "predictive text input" function stored in E series phones?

• Can it be edited by the user?

Basically, I cannot use my phone right now as it is constantly pressing 3 by itself, or if im lucky enough to make to the texting function, Y and 3.

 

Ive tried re-installing the firmware but that hasnt help.

 

Anyone able to help me on this please?

Gah, this is doing my head in.

 

I just had to hard reset my phone for a totally different problem, and since then my connections have been playing up. I set it so the phone uses my WiFi in the house, and when it can't find it, the Vodafone Live! connection. (My 3.5G provider). 

 

I have set the priorities in the 'connection destinations' exactly as they should be, indeed, exactly as they WERE before the reset. However, even if my personal WLAN is in range, if I click on the internet is STILL connects via Vodafone Live! instead of using my home WiFi. 

 

Any ideas? I get the feeling it's just going to be one problem after another till Nokia sort this **bleep** out. The guy in the shop even warned me against buying a brand new Nokia! Wish I'd listnened...

 

Has anyone not had any problems at all yet? Anyone? I don't believe you...

Hi peeps i got my new N97 today and cant figure out how the hell i transfr music from my laptop to the phone i have managed to move them into sounds but cant access that folder. I had a N95 and it was just a drag and drop this dosent seem to be as simple. It is really starting to annoy me!!!!!

I tried creatring a new folder on my pc in thje n97 folder but cant find that either please help i need my mp3 player!!!!
