Hello,
There is just no update for this GPS device. Its very bad that such a big company does not even list its product on the web site. Moreover, the maps given in the device are outdated. You will find the smallest grocery in the GCC Maps but you will not find the largest landmarks like malls, and hotels. I just hope someone in nokia decides to introduce new maps for gcc with proper roads. The UAE-Oman border is no registered even thou its been there since more than the last 10 years. Many roundabouts in Oman are not mentioned. Its just utterly sad that Nokia can do such a bad job. My advice to nokia, Pls stick to mobile phones if You cant manage the stress of new products and you cant keep them updated.
Garmin is anyday a better choice. Dnt get into the entire thing of nokia giving free maps

I just bought a E71-2 and love it. I have about 4 email accounts (2 yahoo and 2 Gmail) that I need to be notified when I receive emails. There are only two email notification options under the enabled applications in the mode that I am using.
Can there only be automatic email notification on just two accts? This is supposed to be a business phone and I would expect that there be more than two accts that we can be notified on.
Any suggestions?

Hello!
I updated my E51 through NSU to the latest firmware. I carefully followed the instructions, and NSU said the upgrade was successful. After the upgrade the phone switched off. After that when I try to switch it on, first it vibrates (as normally), the led lights and the screen is blank black. The phone cannot boot further, it stucks in this position. What can I do? I already tried to remove the battery for ca. 10 minutes, tried to switch it on with the SIM card and/or memory card removed. It will be wonderful if I will be stuck with a piece of brick till the 5th :-|.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Firstly, if Nokia took the bold step of having an open door policy towards developments, then perhaps customers may be prepared to wait for updates rather than return their handsets. As I got no useful feedback from my call to Nokia support around my issues, I decided that I would not be prepared to wait for the uncertainty of a fix. The chap could not even tell me what previous Firmware updates fixed ;-(
I've had a Nokia n95 8GB for over a year that served me well, but greed encouraged me to jump to the Nokia N96. This phone lasted all of one day before I decided to return it to Vodafone. Why ? Firstly the 3G performance is nothing short of rubbish compared the the N95 8GB. I used to be able to obtain 3G both inside the house and in the back garden, but with the N96 I cannot obtain it within the house and it takes ages to get it in the garden. This test uses the same network operator and the same sim card.
Performance is slow, but I think we've all noticed that now, unless of course you're desperate to buy this phone and use Live TV, which will not work in the United Kingdom at this time of writing (Dec 2008), with still no plans to launch this as a service until perhaps 2011 (maybe just in time for the olympics).
Using the gallery is a pain. On the N95 8GB a user could go to a picture, click on '5' or '0' to zoom in/out, but on the N96, no no no piggy wiggy wiggy...... you have to go to the picture, then click Option, scroll down to Edit, click Edit, then you're presented with a screen that allows you to changed the brightness, crop etc etc, then you have to click Cancel, and then you can zoom.
It would be nice to hear back from Nokia, especially Product Marketing, as I'm probably one of the few users that actually use in excess of 90% of the phones capabilities on a daily basis. More UAT should be done with true power users

I am experiencing difficulty using the E71 VPN with a cisco asa running RSA_SIGNATURES. I create the policy no problem using the Nokia policy creation tool for windows and I can install the policy but when I try and associate the policy with an access point it won't stay associated. I select the policy when defining the access point but when I save the access point then navigate back to it there is no policy associated with it. This is a show stopper. Has anyone else experienced the same thing?
Thanks for your help.
